Ringnes’ summer beer is back in the stores again. When I designed it last year, I thought it’d be a one off for that season, but I’m happy to see it back on the Norwegian shelves again this year. Skjærgårdspils is also back as usual.

Being a reader and fan of Shift since the 90s, I couln’t resist submitting when they announced a competition to make the new logo. A total of 485 works were submitted from 40 different countries. While mine didn’t make it to the top, I’m honored to be among the nominees.

Deleted Scenes Magazine is out now. The website has info on where it can be purchased, and I’ve heard they’re planning on selling it online as well soon. I was asked to contribute with a piece and was given the theme “Rock and Scroll”. Also my good friends Diogo Valério and Erik Hedberg feature with a collaborative effort. This is the first issue of Deleted Scenes and it looks promising.
On tuesday March 11, I was invited to have a day’s workshop on logo design at AHO – The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, along with their regular lecturerAnne Mellbye. I was great seeing industrial designers and architects’ take on logo design, and I was surprised to see how good some of the logos were, even though it’s not their usual subject. It would have been great to have had more time to follow up, though. One day is hardly enough time to get very in depth on any subject. Still great fun and inspiring.

My trip to Kristiansand to judge in the Sabla Bra competition turned out to b a little longer than expected. Heavy weather, both in Oslo and Kristiansand (where the judging took place), added an extra night to my stay. Apart from that, it was nice seeing what those people in the south of Norway were up to. Piston Ltd. (Jens Petter and Hallvard from Xploding Plastix + Erland Dahlen and Bjorn Charles Dreyer) have released an album on Hecca Records, and I had the pleasure of helping them with some cover artwork. It was released on Monday 12th of November and it’s limited to 1000 copies. You can buy it here
Back from Bergen after two weeks of teaching logotype design at KHiB (Bergen National Academy of the Arts). Teaching was a new and wonderful experience, and I was very impressed with the results the students produced by the end of the course. I don’t think everyone knew working with type could be that fun, and being a part of making them discover that was truly inspiring.
The latest issue of .no magazine (Norwegian edition) has a feature on 15 visual workers. I’m happy to be one of those. My friends Iselin Engan and Haltebanken were also among the people featured in the article.
